Hawzah News Agency- The reopening ceremony coincided with the mosque’s 500th anniversary and was attended by religious and political figures, along with large numbers of local residents.
Located in the predominantly Muslim SandzakHa region of southwestern Serbia, the mosque has long served as a center for worship, education, and community life. It remains one of the region’s most significant Islamic and historical landmarks.
Officials involved in the project emphasized that the restoration represented more than a structural renovation; it was also an effort to preserve the historical and religious identity of the Muslim community and strengthen the connection between future generations and their cultural heritage.
During the ceremony, the Mufti of Sandzak described the mosque as not merely a building, but a living witness to history and an enduring symbol of Muslim identity in the region.
